The Muestra Internacional de Cine y Derechos Humanos [international exhibition of film and human rights] will start its fourth edition, to be held from 15th to 26th October 2007. Later, it will move on to Alcoy and Madrid. Alter that, it will go to Mexico, for the second year running, and then to Guatemala and Argentina, for the first time. The Muestra Internacional de Cine y Derechos Humanos will be held at the Universidad de Alicante for the first time ever through an open ended course. Each course will consist of the showing of an hour of audiovisual works, followed by a seminar class given by professors at the Universidad de Alicante, giving exhibition attendees the opportunity for exchanging thoughts and ideas. The courses will take place from 22nd to 31st October. Organizers have received nearly 200 audiovisual works from 22 countries, which have been viewed for the scheduling of the courses. The 2007 edition of the Muestra Internacional de Cine y Derechos Humanos [international exhibition of film and human rights] has the same aims as in previous years to awaken critical feelings and take them to the point of reflection on the infringement of human rights in the world. Film is chosen as the most direct, efficient and popular medium of expression to show illegal and unjust situations in society.
